It is believed that taking children for guitar lessons early on can actually improve their cognitive and memory skills. Childhood is the easiest time to start learning an instrument because the brain is still developing and absorbs new information easily.
When learning an instrument at an early age, the process of learning is sped up, so by the time the child gets older, they will have the chance to be a great musician if they are still interested in playing music. Learning an instrument is also a great way to expand the range of interests of a child. Later in life, they may be too busy or may be uninterested in trying to learn something new.
