When it comes to taking piano lessons and piano teachers, there are many common misconceptions that may hinder one from going through with their plans. Usually, these ideas come from not knowing much on the subject or lack of knowledge about what it involves. Unfortunately, this can cause negativity when a student first goes into taking lessons, thus making it more difficult for the teacher.
Expectations are a normal part of taking on something new, but it must be done moderately, without harsh judgment. Playing the piano fluently does not take place in a day or even two days, for that matter. Patience goes hand in hand with progress and one can not have one without the other. Every student must learn at their own pace to retain knowledge and understanding of the skill.
